Sports & Extra Curricular Activities Round-Up 4th - 8th April 2011

Wednesday 6th April.

Rugby. The U14 boy's team were in action today in the next round of their league. They had a great day. They played Athboy CC at home in Wilson's and the final score was 46 - 19 to Wilson's. By half time Wilson's had scored eight tries! the coach cleared the bench and everyone got a run. There was good play from outhalf Stephen who converted three of the tries. Daniel scored three of the tries and MJ another two. Athboy came out strongly when the game restarted scoring three tries. Wilson's got a final try in the last minute of the game. This team are in impressive form as they storm their way through the league. Another well deserved win for the boys and their coach Mr Dempsey!

Tuesday 5th April.

Rugby. The Junior Boy's team were involved in a Leinster Final today against Blackrock College. It was a very tight match throughout with both schools playing hard to win. MJ scored a good try for Wilson's when he took his chance following a mistake by Blackrock. It was converted by Matthew. The forwards continued to work hard. Lochlainn and Nathan were excellent in defence. The sides were level at 7 - 7 when the half time whistle blew. Blackrock came back very strongly in the second half. Wilson's tried hard with good running of the ball from Jamie and John. Ben also had a very steady game. The final score of 15 - 7 to Blackrock does not do justice to the tightness of this game. The Wilson's team are even more determined to win the other final that they will contest next week against St. Pat's, Navan. Congratulations to the team and their coaches on such a successful season which sees this young team in two league finals.
