Tuesday 14th November.
The Minor A Girls team had an away fixture against the Dominicans, Wicklow for their second Leinstead match of the year. Unfortunately the girls got off to a slow start after such a long trip and conceded three goals in the opening five minutes. They regrouped and came out fighting and put in a brilliant second half to keep the score 3-0. A very positive outing giving the disappointing start. Sadbh played in goals for the first time showing great potential. Lola and Abbie stepped up to the plate too and also had strong performances but player of the match for Wilson's was team captain Lucy who was unbeatable in the centre of defence and led her team by example.
Wednesday 15th November.
Today was a special day for Rugby in Wilson's as we fielded 6 teams on the one day across 4 different venues.
The girls enjoyed success in Tullamore with the Seniors girls winning and the Junior girls marginally losing out. Both teams had excellent games and can be very proud of their performances.
The First and Second year boys teams hosted St Paul's in Multyfarnham. The First Year boys won 42-12 and the Second Year boys lost out narrowly 21-14. Two very good games and we look forward to reversing the fixture in St Paul's in February.
Next up was the 1B league semi-final for the Junior boys in St Andrews. A fierce battle ended in a 12-12 draw. A fair result with Denians and Ben getting the tries. WHS host the replay next Wednesday at 1pm.
Finally the Senior boys travelled to Blackrock to take on their senior house team in a mid-season friendly. Blackrock won on this occasion 21.10 with Alex and Robbie getting the tries in response for Wilson's.
Hockey. The U16 and the U13 Boys teams were to be playing home fixtures against East Glendalough School and The KIng's Hospital School But the games were postponed"
Soccer. The U15 Minor Boys team had a home Cup fixture against Oaklands Community College. It was a 7 all draw with WHS losing on penalties in the end.
Thursday 16th November.
Basketball. The Senior Boys team had a home fixture this morning against The Marist College From Athlone. They had a great game but unfortunately came out the wrong side of the final score. Wilson's were leading for the whole first half with great scores from Nathan and William. All the boys played well but a strong Marist side brought the final score to 48-44.
