Wednesday 7th March.
Hockey. The Senior A Girls and Minor B Girls teams played Dundalk Grammar School in the Meath & District League. The Minor B played an exceptionally tough game ans sadly conceeded 6-0 despite amazing efforts. The girls played hard and showed great skill which we hope will stand to them well in future matches.
The Seniors were down seven of their usual players and brought some Senior B team members to play the match. Emily scored a brilliant goal in the first half to bring Wilson's to a 1-0 lead at half time.
Then Dundalk scored two goals in the second half to bring the final score to 1-2. Wilson's played a great game and didn't deserve to be defeated! There was amazing play from Ellen, Lucy, Rósín and Avril.
Rugby. The Senior Boys had a home fixture and marched into the semi final of the Forster Cup competition taking apart an under strength team from The King's Hospital 59-7. This was one of the most complete performances that the SCT have managed to put together this season. Five tries in the first half and four in the second really tells its own story.
Wilson's chose to play with the wind in the first half. A neat touch find from Ryan set a perfect platform for the forwards to burrow over from close range with Barry scoring his first try of the season. Ryan (2) and William added further tries before Franklin added the best try of the game on the stroke of half time. Four minutes of nonstop play eventually resulted in Franklin receiving the ball from Evan and with some near footwork, he scored his first try of the season.
In the second half KH were first out of the blocks with their number 10 scoring under the posts. WHS added tries of their own through William, Alex and Harry (first of the season) to leave the final score 59-7.
This was a fantastic team performance. The line speed, execution and work rate were all excelle throughout. Barry was Man of the Match for Wilson's closely followed in the pack by William and Alex. In the backs, Robbie, Richard and Owen were a constant threat. Ryan finished the game with a great tally of 27 points.
Next up is more than likely the semi final of the Foster Cup. The opposition TBC. There are more photos on the school's Facebook page.
Thursday 8th March.
Hockey. The Senior Girls team and the Junior Girls team both had Leinster quarter finals today against Sutton Park School. For the Seniors, Sutton looked impressive in the opening minutes on their home pitch but the Wilson’s girls created the first chance of the game after some brilliant individual skill from Emily down the right wing. Unfortunately the final efforts went wide. Sutton were the first to break the deadlock with a shot from just inside the circle taking a lucky deflection. Wilson’s were playing well defensively but lacked composure in possession going forward. Sutton continued to create chances and got a second goal just before half time.
The second half was a battle for possession in midfield as both teams tried to break through the defence. Evelyn, Ellen and Sheena were excellent for Wilson’s and blocked every opportunity Sutton created. Team captain, Lucy, had a fantastic match in centre mid and with 10 minutes remaining Wilson’s ha d a great chance to get a goal. A quick break from Lucy and an excellent pass to Eunice was unfortunately missed right at the end. The girls were unlucky today but can be very proud of their efforts this year in Leinster.

Rugby. The U14 Boys fixture against Mullinagr RFC is cancelled.
