"Turning of the sod" for the new all weather pitch.

It was a pleasure to welcome Lisa Jacob to WHS today as the guest speaker at the Prize Giving ceremony. Before lunch, Lisa “turned the sod” on the site of the new all weather hockey pitch which will soon be constructed at Wilson’s.

She finished her Irish senior hockey career having played 139 times, and then joined the Irish Women’s 7s Squad for over a year. While playing hockey she joined semi-professional Dutch team SCHC in Utrecht. Lisa was part of the RTE analysis of the recent Hockey World Cup where Ireland claimed the silver medal.

Past Pupils Trevor Winckworth Memorial Rugby Game 2018

A great 33-10 win for Wilson’s past pupils in the annual Trevor Winckworth Memorial game v Mullingar RFC on Saturday evening. Players ranging from 18 to 33 years of age took the field in a blue jersey and pulled off a great win against a well organized Mullingar side.
Well done to Lochlainn McDonnell - who was named man of the match and presented with the Andrew Claxton Trophy by the Claxton family. Thank you Mullingar RFC for being excellent hosts as always.

We look forward to welcoming former Irish player Lisa Jacob to be our guest speaker at the annual Prize Giving ceremony in September. She was part of the panel of experts on the RTE coverage of the competition.
