On the evening of Thursday 22 October, the Junior Debaters began their national competitions in the UCD Junior Schools Debating competition, held over Zoom this year.
Form 1 students Sinéad and Emer argued for the motion This House Believes that Computer Skills should be taught in Schools while Ella Mae and Clodagh argued against the motion. The almost two hour long debate saw students from schools around the country competing against each other in teams of two.
Wilson’s students argued their points excellently, and results are expected next week. The girls are progressing to Rounds 2 and 3 of the debate, which will be held over the next two months, and we wish them every success.
